MAAPPS 2015 Annual Meeting and Election: Embracing the Milestones and Continuing our Mission
On Saturday, November 14, 2015, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Professional Process Servers ("MAAPPS") held its annual meeting and election at family owned and operated establishment, Gentleman Jim’s in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that this month also commemorates our fifth year as an organization. Happy Anniversary MAAPPS!
Over 50 members were in attendance, while multiple guests were welcomed by Committee members in the privately reserved lounge. With a great atmosphere created by the venue and attendees, everyone enjoyed cavalier style pizza and soft drinks, partially funded by a generous donation from MAAPPS. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces, and exciting to meet the new members too! As MAAPPS continues to extend networks and opportunities for its members in collaboration with other industry bodies, we also hosted guest speakers from Planning Needs Financial Group, McCoy Consulting Group, LLC, and Capitol Benefits. This occasion also rendered election of the newly appointed 2015-2016 Board of Directors as follows:

the meeting in his capacity as Secretary of the Board of Directors by progressing
the afternoon and introducing the exclusive speakers. The assembly proved
sincere attainment of our mission to promote the process serving industry and
its members through explicit objectives. Since its inception, MAAPPS has
continued to articulate the
value we provide, strengthen our organization, develop a groundbreaking board,
chart a strategic direction, and attract more support. We are proud to share
some of the organization’s most successful milestones, including:
- Increased membership with over 130 membership certificates issued
- Integrated the State of Delaware as a preferred membership area
- Successfully fought two legislative bills in the State of Maryland
- Successfully fought one legislative bill in the State of Virginia
- Compensated a $60k lobbyist to defeat legislation through fund raising initiatives
- Obtained 501(c)(3) non-profit status
- Founded and produced MAAPPS newsletter “In Process”
- Developed basic process server educational component with state modules
- Built industry awareness of process serving through distinct marketing campaigns
Overall, the
afternoon was a complete success and the MAAPPS Board of Directors extends
a tremendous thanks to everyone who attended and participated in this industrious
event. As we celebrate five years of hard work and dedication, the association
would also like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for every
contribution to our achievements during the last several years. We look forward
