On Saturday, November 4, 2017, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Professional Process Servers ("MAAPPS") held its annual meeting and election at family owned and operated establishment, Gentleman Jim’s in Gaithersburg, Maryland. This year’s theme was “Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, Shaping the Future”. Additionally, we are pleased to announce that this month also commemorates our seventh year as an organization.

Several members were in attendance, while multiple guests were welcomed and greeted in the privately reserved lounge. The atmosphere was quite delightful as everyone feasted upon gourmet pizza and assorted soft drinks, which was partially funded by a donation from MAAPPS. There were many familiar faces along with new members and first-time visitors too! As MAAPPS continues to extend networks and opportunities for its members in collaboration with other industry bodies, we also hosted exclusive guest speakers from Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company, Rapid Process Serving, and The Law Offices of RA Wood. This occasion also achieved election of the newly appointed 2018 Officers and Board of Directors as follows:
The afternoon progressed with a stately ceremony of special awards and presentations to MAAPPS Founding Members, Torri Schaffer (Torri’s Legal Services), Michael Daigneault (Priority Process), and Steven Harris (ALIASS). The organization is proud to recognize these individuals for their ongoing contributions and continued work as leaders in strengthening our organization, industry, and professional community. The assembly proved sincere attainment of our mission to promote the process serving industry and its members through explicit objectives. Since its inception, MAAPPS has continued to articulate the value we provide, strengthen our organization, develop a ground-breaking board, chart a strategic direction, and attract more support. We are pleased to share some of the organization’s exciting inaugural projects and events for 2018, including:
  • MAAPPS Training and Certification Course (Education Committee)
  • Spring Fundraising Event (Casino Night)
  • Spring Education Seminar (Technology)
  • Summer Fundraising Event (Silent Auction)
  • Summer Education Workshop Series (E-filing, Safety)
  • Fall Fundraising Event (Bingo Night)
  • Fall Education Seminar (FDCA, Civil Procedure)
  • Online MAAPPS newsletter (In Process)
  • MAAPPS Website Blog
Overall, the afternoon was a complete success and the MAAPPS Board of Directors extends a tremendous thanks to everyone who attended and participated in this industrious event. As we celebrate five years of hard work and dedication, the association would also like to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for every contribution to our achievements during the last several years. We look forward to seeing you next year!
